I have seen such vivid and positive growth in myself as a writer throughout this semester. Basically all of my classes have an aspect of writing in them, and it has been really cool to see how I have developed and conveyed my ideas throughout these past 15 weeks. I love the writing aspects in my arts classes such as dance, movement for the actor, musical theatre, etc. I really enjoyed writing about the things I am so passionate about – I noticed I was able to explain things with great depth and color! I loved being in this FYS centered around letter writing as well for many reasons! I think the art of letter writing is so beautiful and powerful and can move mountains! I have always loved the idea of this, but after learning so much more about it in terms of execution, time period, location, and people involved, I have fallen in love with it even more! A goal fo mine in writing my entire life has been to keep my ideas clear and concise. I always have so much I want to say, and I have always needed to work on honing in on and circling back to one main idea/focus. I think I have improved in this aspect being in college, but I do know that that I can, and will, work even harder at it 🙂
